Turning My Duel G5 Into a Crappy Speaker System

I wish to plug an audio device into my G5 running Tiger and listen to the audio out the speakers. I can rip the audio to a sound file so I know it’s working but I just want to listen. To do this on my Linux box the audio does not even leave the sound card. Any help?

I really hope I’m missing something stupid.

  1. E says to check out Soundflower and Soundbed. They’re described in the Engadget guide to Podcasting.

  2. At the moment I’m running my Macs audio output to my Linux box and plugging my headphones into that. It makes the iTunes sound like crap, but most podcasts sound like crap anyway. “It just works” my heinie.
