Elana's Home Page

* Hi! I'm Elana and welcome to my home page. Just to let you know a little bit about myself, I work as a production assistant for television. I've worked on shows that have aired on Comedy Central, Fox, and PBS (Computer Chronicles and The Internet Cafe), but now work for the new 24-hour computer cable channel,
ZDTV on the show Internet Tonight.

* I just went to my 10th high school reunion. What a kick! :-)

* Here's the travel diary from our trip to the south of France in April 1998. It was soooo beautiful there!

* I have to mention the birthday surprise that Brendan did for me last year...stunning.

* Wanna see some pictures?

* Here's Zen Zen And The Art Of The Internet by Brendan. This is the first edition, which will be online til the Net dies...if it ever does :-).

* Well, since I did graduate from Camden Rockport High School, I thought there should be an alumni page *somewhere* on the Net for it.

* Want some jokes? I have over 1000 of the most traveled jokes on the Net.

* Check out what the Popmeister does..hard life, going to Greece every summer to do geological research. My heart bleeds. :-) While you're at it, check out the main page of Earthwatch. It is a beautiful page, and what I think a well done page with graphics should be like (there are a lot of graphics, so if you don't want to wait, skip it.).

* Hmmm...what are some of my favorite sites? One that I check daily is The Sleaze. Great entertainment gossip, no holds barred. I absolutely love the Hacker News Network. Since we do news stories daily on IT, I get some great ones here. Oh, the Urban Legends Reference Pages is where I check most of those emails coming in that seem a bit off (come on, do you really think that someone is going to cut out your kidneys!?!?!?!). One page that I was just told about is the Geek Girls Anonymous page. Kate loves that site :-).

* I've been working on my resume lately. Whaddya think?

* I was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts and raised mainly in Woods Hole, MA.. There are so many cool things there, like Nobska Lighthouse, Eel Pond and all of the research institutions there. Most of my friends parents were doing some form of weird experiments on seaweed or something. I still try to keep in touch with some of those friends. I graduated high school from Camden-Rockport High School in Camden, Maine (Brendan and I met in Portland, ME, in '88--more to come on that when I have time) and left New England for college at West Chester University in Pennsylvania and Hollyweird, California. Now I'm in Mountain View (between San Fran and San Jose) and I love it. By the way, Brendan added a really cute picture of Brendan and our friends baby, Merin.

* For some other cool pages, check out Sven Heinicke's or Daphne's Daphne's. Mammy, Brendan's mom, also has a page. Isn't the Internet great?! And Brendan's has a running list of cool kids links where I go on bad days. Nothing is quite like a virtual coloring book. And Chris Fenwick's page has some great graphics and pages of people who I've worked with up here. Charley has a page too...I've known him as far back as I can remember. And then there's Jeremy, who I've known almost as long as Charley. And Scott's Fully Alive Community Church has a fabulous web page. BTW, if you need someone to marry you, Scott is great. He married Brendan and me :-). Email him and let him know you liked the page...

* If you have a question about Earth Science, the University of Hawaii has a page called Ask An Earth Scientist. It's kinda cool.

* I am so completely in love with Howard Jones and have been since I was 13. (Sorry Brendan!) This site has a ton of stuff, including a mailing list about him! Long live big orange 80's hair! We recently had a little discussion on the mailing list about You Know You're A HoJo Fan When.... Quite humorous.

* Please feel free to send email to me at elana@zen.org. I'll try to answer them all...cause I get so flooded :-).
