I also live on a cul-de-sac and have the same problem, handled it much the same way, same result (no change) maybe a couple of cinderblocks in a baby carriage, pushed out into the road at the right moment would give your speeders something to think about - you'll have a lawsuit, but might feel better! Meantime, I'm circulating a letter to all my "friends and neighbors" on the street citing mutual concern for our kids, etc. and hoping for a change. Wine won’t help.
